Annamaria started practising in Iyengar Yoga in 1991, became an Iyengar teacher though various levels of qualifications and certifications, until reaching what is the current Level 3 and mentor level in the Iyengar system in 2020. She has been teaching full-time for 21 years. Over the years she studied with several Senior Iyengar teachers all over the world, as well as the Iyengar family in Pune, and completed a three year course on how to work remedially in a general yoga class. She has been supporting clients one-to-one with remedial yoga since 2007.
Her main inspirations in Yoga are two great teachers she feels fortunate to have met on her way, Firooza Ali Razvi and Christian Pisano.
The way Annamaria teaches now, although rooted in the Iyengar tradition, has moved away from it to embrace where her own practice keeps moving her to, what her students taught her over her 21 years of teaching, as well as her own life experience and how Yoga has been woven thoughout.
Her teaching voice focuses on encouraging an individual spirit of listening, of enquiring, of feeling through the body to reach the soul. Her main teaching ambition is to foster independent feeling, discerning spirits.
Annamaria is also a craniosacral therapist and has studied core process psychotherapy.
